Memoora, Inc. ("Memoora," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our service.

Account information: Name, email address, and billing information when you create an account.

Storyteller information: The name, relationship, and phone number of the person whose stories are being recorded, provided by you during signup.

Voice recordings: Audio recordings of phone conversations between our AI guide and the storyteller, created as part of the service.

Transcripts and narratives: Text transcriptions and written summaries generated from voice recordings.

Usage data: Information about how you interact with our service, including pages visited, features used, and session duration.

Payment information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store full credit card numbers — Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, operate, and improve the Memoora service
Initiate and record AI-guided phone conversations with storytellers
Generate transcripts and written narratives from recordings
Make recordings and transcripts available to authorized family members
Process payments and send billing communications

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or voice recordings to third parties. We share data only in limited circumstances:

Service providers: We use trusted third-party services (including Stripe for payments, and cloud storage providers) that process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality.
AI transcription: Audio recordings are processed by AI systems for transcription and narrative generation. This data is not used to train external AI models.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, data may be transferred to the acquiring entity subject to the same privacy protections.

4. Data Storage and Security

All recordings, transcripts, and personal data are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

We are currently pursuing SOC 2 certification. In the meantime, we apply enterprise-grade security controls to all data handling.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and recordings for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, you may request deletion of your data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law.

You can download all your recordings and transcripts at any time from your dashboard.
